Diamond Painting Drill Storage Containers
Diamond Painting is a sparkling, meditative craft where you place tiny resin "diamonds" onto a sticky coded canvas to create a shimmering mosaic-style piece of art. Each symbol on the canvas corresponds to a specific drill color. Using a stylus type pen, either manual or electric, you pick up each drill and place it on the sticky canvas. The repetitive motion and focus help to quiet the mind and creates a relaxing atmosphere. With each painting you get sealed static friendly bags of numbered drills. The question then becomes how do I deal with these small packages of drills:
- Do I leave them in the package, cut the corner off and pour them out into my tray as I need them? Then how do I seal them back up when I am no longer using that one?
- Do I hand write labels on separate containers and pour the contents of each package into that smaller container. What if not all the drills fit in that one separate container - now you have two of the same number/letter.
- Do I buy a storage system big enough to hold all my drills in one place. Like those storage boxes that have the tray included in the same box with a lid that also stores the full set of drills. Game changer right - until you drop your stylus pen on the open tray you are working on or knock over the entire tray onto the floor. Now your looking for hundreds of drills you are trying to pick up off the floor. I have been there more times than I want to admit.
Therefore, I wanted a set of boxes that were already labeled with easy to read numbers/letters which had a sliding lid that clicked back into place so I could just pour out a small amount of drills into my tray, click the lid closed and work from there. I also want the boxes big enough not to have duplicates of any one color and I want them all in one place where I can just grab that case of drills, my canvas and the accessories box that houses my stylus, tweezers, drill trays and anything else I may want to store there. Three things and I am on may way to wherever I want to go.
- Drill cases can be 3D printed in most any color - Cases are printed with PLA filament - do not leave these boxes in a hot car or in the direct sunlight for long periods of time as it may warp the items.
- I also include a spacer in each organizer that can house small things like a manual stylus and wax squares, tweezers for example which then lifts out and lets you move the individual drill cases as you need to use them.
- Drill Cases are designed to fit in a 9x11 clear organizer
