Steve and Carla are the creative force behind one of the most energetic and fast‑growing small 3D‑printing brands in the community. Together, they blend technical skill, artistic design, and genuine handmade care to create prints that feel personal, joyful, and built to last.
Steve is the precision expert — the one who dials in machines, tests new materials, and pushes print quality to the next level. His hands on maintenance and attention to detail keeps the print farm running smoothly and ensures every piece meets a professional standard.
Carla is the designer and brand visionary — known for beautiful color combinations, playful motifs, Custom‑friendly graphics, and product ideas that customers instantly fall in love with. She brings warmth, creativity, and a handmade touch to every item, from luggage tags, keychains, bookmarks, to everyday item improvements.
Together, Steve and Carla have built a 3D‑printing business rooted in innovation, craftsmanship, and heart — delivering products that make everyday life a little more fun.
WHERE WE CAME FROM?
Carla has been a maker since the moment she could hold a pair of scissors. From childhood craft kits to sewing, crochet, scrapbooking, jewelry making, Cricut projects, resin, and now 3D printing, she’s tried every new craft that’s come her way — and mastered more than most people can name. Creativity isn’t just a hobby for her; it’s the way she moves through the world.
Her style blends colors, organization, and a love for handmade details. Whether she’s designing a new luggage tag, sketching a floral SVG, or testing a fresh filament, Carla brings the same spark she’s had her whole life: curiosity, joy, and the thrill of making something beautiful from nothing.
Today, she channels decades of crafting experience into Fun X 3D Printing — turning her lifelong passion into products that make people smile.
WHAT WE DO?
Our 3D printing adventure started when we saw a Bambu Labs Mini A1 printer in action. We spoke with owner who couldn’t say enough good things about the printer and the brand. After doing a lot of research, we decided to invest in one of the enclosed printers from Bambu Labs. These printers are like the I-Phone of cell phones. It just worked right out of the box after initial set up. That poor machine ran non-stop for the first month we had it and it was a work horse, didn’t miss a step except for user error. It wasn’t long before we had to have more color choices and ease of use by purchasing more AMS units. At first, it was only Carla who did all the printing, while learning modeling on the side. She mainly printed useful, practical items that were needed around the house or to entertain the grand babies. It wasn’t long before Steve was asking for classic car pieces, brackets, and tractor knobs. You know - design parts that take a lot of trial and error to create and perfect.
Steve, who is not allowed to have a computer, learned how to use the software using only the handy app on his phone. While he still couldn’t do his own designing he could send his own prints to the printer so then came education about the printers, build plates and filament types. He got really good at dropping things we printed which showed us really quickly that PLA filament was not always the best choice for every print and allowed us to dabble and expand our use of filament types. Carla often calls him the quality control inspector.
With Steve now printing and Carla printing and prints taking several hours to several day to complete we soon found the need for more printers. So Steve went to work finding slightly used printers that needed rescuing. He would clean them up and complete maintenance on them and start printing. 3D printed items soon began to collect all over the place. We gave away much of what we printed and found that people kept asking for more items. Steve was so excited about this new hobby we could work on together.

Working together gives us a shared creative purpose outside of juggling the stress of our everyday lives. We thrive on the excitement of building something Handmade with Love that we can share with the people of the world.
